About
Green Grace has been founded to make it easier for all of us to get toxins and plastic out of our lives. This is the place for a healthy you and a healthy planet!
I was never a hardcore environmentalist. I knew that there were plenty of environmental problems but it was all too scary, depressing and out of my personal control. Then one fateful day I was listened to an interview with a toxicologist that spurred me into action. I realized that we, as individuals, are putting toxins into our homes and our bodies every day. This was not only outrageous, but also something I could actually do something about. And so my mission began to find clean products for me and my daughter.
I settled on two basic criteria: products must be good for our health and good for the health of the planet. I thought my mission was fairly simple, but with all the green-washing and half-measures out there, it was in fact remarkably challenging. After all of my searching for good products for grooming, eating and cleaning, I thought it would make sense to make it all easily accessible to others who also want to live clean lives.
Like many other Canadians, I have also become convinced of the need to choose Canadian whenever possible. I have been so impressed with the many small businesses across Canada that have developed innovative green products, many of which are manufactured in Canada as well. Green Grace also carries a few international companies who were selected because they have unique offerings.
As Goethe said, "Let every person sweep in front of their own door, and the whole world will be clean." With us living cleaner and healthier lives, we are making the earth a little cleaner and healthier at the same time.

Just say no to toxins in your life
Many of the products we have in our home contain chemicals that are linked to health and environmental harm; carcinogens, reproductive toxins, skin allergens and neurotoxicants are everywhere. We have found a range of products that will satisfy your daily living needs that are completely free of toxins.
What does it mean to be plastic free?
We have been diligent in finding products that are plastic free. However, there are a few little grey areas. We are stocking recycled glass spray bottles, as well as glass liquid soap dispensers; those all have plastic in the pumps/nozzles. The toothpaste tubes and part of the cap of the collapsible silicone bottle are made of bioplastics (PLA). And of course, the compost bags and gloves are also made of PLA. PLAs are not perfect, but they have a much smaller carbon footprint than traditional plastics and are recyclable or compostable. At this point in time, it might well be impossible to be completely plastic-free, but we have gotten almost all the way there!
Support Canadian business and innovation
Green Grace is Canadian-forward, meaning that most of our offerings are from Canadian businesses. What's more, many of their products are also made in Canada. We stock a few international businesses because of their unique offerings, but the majority of what you find here is proudly Canadian.
